Did it seem as he was being sarcastic? No.

I never figured out why are they thought of as superior race, they are physically weaker then both white and black people.
Only some of them are mentally uber and they achieved it by training which white or black folks could also go through.
Hell, we even look more handsome/beautiful then them.
